Mellie Vissers (born 1977, Nijmegen, The Netherlands) is a self-taught visual artist whose work emerges from intuition, emotion, and inner silence. Her paintings — often portraits and mountain landscapes — seem to appear from another realm: mythic, spiritual, and filled with a deep stillness. Each brushstroke is guided by feeling rather than plan, allowing the unseen to become visible.
After a brief period at the Art Academy in Arnhem, Mellie chose to follow her own artistic path. Words could never capture the emotional depth of her work; only the image could truly speak. Between the ages of sixteen and nineteen, she exhibited and sold her paintings in the Netherlands, before dedicating herself to motherhood and creative professions that kept her connected to her sense of design and creation.
In 2016 she founded Kunsthuis De Nieuwe Blik (“The New View Art House”), an atelier devoted to teaching intuitive art to both children and adults. Her teaching and art practice share the same essence: freedom, emotion, and surrender to the creative process.
For many years, mountains have appeared in her paintings — symbols of strength, peace, and destiny. Her art invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and return to an inner sense of peace — to come home, if only for a moment.
